
The natural gas industry is a growing field that actively seeks local workers with knowledge of gas exploration and development. To aid in these efforts of creating a qualified workforce, ShaleNET combines the forces of the natural gas industry, training providers, and the public workforce system. ShaleNET aims to employ low-income, local workers in the Marcellus Shale formation region of New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Dayton Ohio has always been a major hub for industrial, aerospace, and technological/engineering research, especially since the Wright brothers first invented powered flight in 1903. Today, Dayton’s reputation has not changed as it continues to encourage the next generation to produce scientific and technological innovations.
The Institute for a Competitive Workforce will hold its annual education and workforce summit on September 17 & 18 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC. Details to come.
